Payment Options and Terms

We offer convenient payment terms and options for the medical traveler. And you are free to use a combination of payment options if you like. Personal CHECKS are accepted and may be sent to either our Canadian bank or American bank. Or, you may Bank Wire payments to either our Canadian bank account (in Canadian dollars) or our United States bank account (in U.S. dollars).  Or a combination of both checks and bank wire is acceptable.

1 - The initial payment of the first 1/3 amount of your total bill begins our process of setting up your surgical appointment and details, as well as initiating all Medical and Non-Medical arrangements and planning all aspects of your trip and your stay.

2 - The next 1/3 payment is due 30 days prior to your arrival

3 - Finally, your 1/3 balance is due after your arrival and before your scheduled surgery.  The final payment upon arrival  (if you have not paid your remaining balance before arrival.) may be paid in ONLY U.S. DOLLARS or MEXICAN PESOS (NOTE:  This is the only acceptable payment form AFTER arrival)  to top

Risks / Complications

We ask that you and your HOME physician determine that you are in need of a specific procedure before you decide to travel to Merida. Of course, as with any medical or surgical procedure anywhere in the world including the States and Canada, there may be risks involved. Prior to your trip, your chosen Physician/Specialist – HERE - will determine if you are a good candidate for the specific procedure based on your medical records/history and personal consultation.

Be assured that your chosen specialist here will explain all of the details surrounding your procedure and that all your questions will be answered by your doctor for YOUR consideration BEFORE leaving home. Think about it--often you have no choice in selection of physicians and surgeons at home. The selection is left arbitrarily to the insurance company or the availability of staff and informed consent is an impersonal and scary PROCESS. Only after you make your decision and your doctor here finds you to be an eligible candidate for travel and your procedure, will you be given the GREEN LIGHT to move forward with us in planning your medical trip.

The physicians and surgeons in Merida, while responsible for the medical aspects of your trip, cannot exclude complications - in the same way that your U.S. or Canadian doctors cannot. However, you will be provided with excellent screening and care to prevent any complications in the first place. Remember that your procedures take place in a modern, well equipped, tertiary care hospital housing over 400 doctors representing all areas of medical care - and that means that should any problems occur while you are abroad, you will already have the highest technology and combined expertise of certified professionals readily available. You will be closely monitored post-op by the medical team and by your facilitator group.to top

Cancellation / Refund

Your team here at Medical Traveler Yucatan is proud to provide complete information and thorough orientation prior to your medical surgery. We prepare you for your trip and will not accept any payment unless you are totally confident and comfortable with the plans for your surgery and trip. On that rare occasion when a client decides to cancel the planned trip, we do provide a refund as per our stated policy.

For whatever reason a patient decides to cancel the planned surgery and/or trip, a refund is provided less all costs of services already provided, including physician services, treatment costs, transportation, food, lodging and other miscellaneous costs; a $300 U.S. administrative fee; any equipment or special medical articles; and a reasonable amount of administrative costs not to exceed 15% of the total amount of the invoiced costs.

For circumstances and events beyond the patient, Medical Traveler Yucatan, the hospital, or surgeon’s control (hurricane, other acts of nature, war) a reasonable amount of administrative costs not to exceed 15% of the total amount of the invoiced costs will be assessed prior to refund. 

Accommodations payments are not normally refundable following booking. to top
